Qimo is a customized Linux distribution based on Ubuntu and XFCE, and is designed especially for under-priviledged and special-needs children. They recently went live with version 1.0 and it looks great! What really makes Qimo special, though, is the husband and wife team that have worked so hard to make their vision a reality.
They’ve created a non-profit organization, QuinnCo, Inc, to help drive Qimo forward and they are currently taking computer equipment donations to use in order to distribute with Qimo.
This is truly what makes Open Source software special.

Great news on the Ubuntu server front. Canonical has announced that they are working with HP to have Ubuntu certified on ProLiant servers. This just adds another level of assurance to Canonical’s commitment to Ubuntu in the enterprise.
