The day trip to Poas and La Paz went ok, but had all the annoyances associated with a tour group. We weren’t given enough time to explore anything but the main trails around either area. Also, going to Poas during the rainy season seems to be hit or miss in terms of what you’ll be able to see.
We arrived early, and were lucky enough to have just enough sun to burn off some of the fog so that we could see the crater. But it didnt last. On the other hand, trying to drive there myself might have been a challenge. The rain forest lived up to its name. My camera and I both got too wet, but it was a nice experience. A little too ‘tourist’ for me, but nice.

Well, I proved Rupak wrong today. He’d said that once you’re past 30, it doesn’t matter until you hit 40. Its been a few years/McDonalds #4 Meals since I’d been hiking regularly. Today Mohan, Puru, and I decided to tackle the 2 mile trek to the Wahkeena Springs. Then on to Devil’s Rest trail. About 1600 ft elevation. Ow. I still hurt. A few years back this woulda been easy. I need to get back in shape.
It was worth the pain though. And it reminded me why I don’t exercise. running/walking indoors is just not interesting. I need to get out more.
Happy Birthday Rupak.

Enjoying Florida again. Hurricane Florence wasnt much trouble for us, but others around town were not as fortunate.
On a lighter note, my old camera is gone, my new SD based camera is here.
Trips to San Antonio, Dallas, and Vancouver, WA coming up.
